Graduate and undergraduate tutoring
Second Language Tutor, Spoken English Language Partners – 11 semesters
Spoken English Language Partners aid international graduate, professional, and undergraduate students in working on their spoken English skills. I worked with these students on presentation skills, accent modification, classroom activities and participation, and vocabulary acquisition, and acclimatizing to North American culture. Spoken English Language Partners meet individually with students, for up to an hour a week, throughout the week.
Writing Resource Center Consultant – 5 semesters
The Writing Resource Center (WRC) at Case Western Reserve University provides supplemental, discipline-specific writing instruction to students of all levels at the university. Writing consultants work one-on-one with students on a wide variety of projects. The WRC encourages visits from students at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming and drafting, to revising and organizing, to sharpening expression. While consultants also work with students on issues of mechanics and grammar, the WRC is not a proofreading service. Consultants work collaboratively with students to assist them in becoming better writers.
